Ostrava Airport (its full name is Leos Janacek Airport Ostrava) used to be known as Ostrava-Mosnov International Airport and is located 12.5 miles to the southwest of the city. The airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and carries over two hundred thousand passengers every year. Tourist Attractions in Ostrava
Located close to the Polish border, Ostrava is the third largest city in the Czech Republic. It has a long and varied history and there are a number of interesting sights for tourists to visit. A good place to start is the New City Hall Viewing Tower. This Tower stands 70m tall and gives a great view of the whole city. Zoo Ostrava is another popular attraction which offers something for the whole family. A little further afield and best reached by car is the Landek Park Mining Museum. This museum gives a fascinating insight into the lives of miners during a time when the city's main export was coal.
